Born and raised in East Los Angeles, Pablo Guillen embodied the definition of indie-filmmaking before joining the ranks of AFI. His work as a writer and director has been recognized by the Mexican American Cultural Education Foundation as well as the James Bridges Scholarship for Excellence in Directing. His debut AFI short MARCOS PREFERS THE STARS gained the attention of creatives at BLUMHOUSE, where he went on to work as a part of the development team. As a lover of genre films, Pablo enjoys working with imagery that reminds us why going to the movies is magical.
